Victory V lozenges, a British confection, have a long history starting in1864 with Thomas Fryer and Edward Smith. Initially, they were made by hand and included ether, liquorice, canabis and chloroform as therapeutic ingredients. Their factory production began in 1880 in Nelson Lancashire.
